RULES
Memorandum of Agreement between the Street2Creek Coalition, acting for and on behalf of the responsible party: Lettice Brown, MS4 Coordinator-Stormwater Management Program, City of York.
Terms of Agreement:
Contest is for ages 14 and above.
Artist may submit up to three designs.
Art must be original. Images with copyrights will not be accepted.
Art must stay within the parameters of the storm drain canvas; no art should be painted on the street or curb.
Art must have a clear environmental message related to storm drains, runoff, pollution, and/or water quality.
No additional wording or images can be added to the art that deviate from the design that was submitted without prior approval from Street 2 Creek project manager.
While some deviation from the original design is accepted due to the variation of sizes in storm drain structures, the principal theme and imagery of the accepted design may not be changed
All art must be completed within the time-frame of the project.
Finished pieces will be property of the City of York. However, the intellectual property of the art design remains with the artist.
The City of York, Master Watershed Stewards York County Program, Watershed Alliance of York and the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Assoc. reserve the right to reproduce finished work for promotion and archival purposes in both printed and electronic form. These organizations will not sell reproductions of the work without written consent of the artist. Artist retains all other rights.
The city or project cannot financially benefit from the art without prior consent from the artist but may reproduce the art for educational and promotional materials.
Art is subject for removal at any time for any purpose deemed necessary by the city.
A payment will made to artist by the Watershed Alliance of York once service is completed and invoiced. Artist is performing his or her duties under this agreement as an independent contractor. There will be no reimbursement for travel or other costs incurred by artist in connection with this agreement. Payment will not be made until art is completed and approved.
Artist is encouraged to use safety equipment during installation of the artwork including, but not limited to, safety vests and traffic cones. lf the artist determines that closure of a street lane or portion of a lane is necessary for safe installation of the work, artist may submit a street lane closure request form which may be obtained from the City of York Department of Public Works, 1625 Toronita Street York, PA 17402 Lettice Brown (717) 324-6532.
Artist shall not close any street lane or portion of a lane without the express approval of the City of York.
